After completing her graduation from St. Xaviers’ College, Nilanjana Das joined Xavier Institute of Social Service, the place which molded her and helped her visualize a career in people’s development. She went on to complete her post graduation in the field of rural development.
After her studies, Nilanjana worked on several assignments and innovative experiments focusing on people’s development. After ten years of learning and practical experience she started an organization called “Action Center For Transformation(ACT)”.
Action Center for Transformation is an entrepreneurial initiative to bring a positive change by implementing innovative ideas in the community. Presently the organization is working on enhancing the education and information system in rural and urban poor areas.
ACT creates products made using simple techniques of paper rolling and by paper folding, using recycled paper. Here are a few of their products:
Apart from spending a lot of time with underprivileged women and children and motivating them to carve a path for themselves, Nilanjana is a motivator, trainer, fundraiser and a manager. Her passion also lies in travelling and photography.
