A few of my favourite things…………….. by Fashion Designer Meera Mittal

Designer & Proprietor of Meera Design & Style Mumbai, Meera Mittal graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), New Delhi and has a decade of rich experience in the fashion business. Having worked in designer fashion with names such as Ashish Soni and Gayatri Khanna and an extensive period in garment and embroidery exports, she is well- versed in the key aspects of fashion.

In March 2010 Meera visited France as one of 6 team members to represent India and specifically her home turf Mumbai on a vocational exchange with the global fashion destination Paris. 40 days in Paris and one unpronounceable Icelandic volcano later, she was ready to get the show on the road.

The Meera design studio creates exclusive western and Indian embroidery, women’s clothing and statement jewellery.  Today Meera guest blogs for OIO and tells us a bit about her favourite things:

Favourite project I’ve worked on.

In recent times… I’d have to say, designing bridal wear embroidery surfaces and embellished accessories for foreign buyers.

Favourite current collection.

I love Mara Hoffman’s tropical collection for Spring Summer 2012.

Favourite City

Make that cities…. Paris & San Francisco! Lots of heritage, a unique charm and so much beauty.

Favourite Restaurant.

Global Fusion in Mumbai. Love their decor, the sheer space, their sushi!!! I just feel buoyant every time I eat there.

Favourite weekend destination.

It has to be Pondicherry with its French Quarter and it’s beautiful coast line, though Goa is a close second.

Favourite design event.

I enjoy catching what I can of Paris Fashion Week on the web.

Favourite design piece.

Umm… Spoilt for choice! It must be the Uncut Agate Stone necklace or the Blue Agate Stone Necklace. Modern classics.
