Hampshire based artist and designer Mala Arora originally comes from Punjab. Before moving to the UK she studied Bachelors and Masters of Fine Arts from Govt. College of Arts, Chandigarh with specialization in Painting. She topped in her University and received the Gold Medal from the Vice – Chancellor.
From a young age, Mala was drawn to the creative field, coming from the colourful state of Punjab she extensively uses bright colours in her designs. She takes inspiration from her surroundings and being born in an industrial town with lots of steel mills and modernisation happening, construction and architecture always attracted her.
Mala has worked with many different mediums throughout her life and few of her favourites have been block printing, screen printing, acrylic on canvas, photography, drawing, and digital media. All of her designs are multiple layers of these mediums. Mala paints, draws or take photos before creating designs digitally on them using photoshop.
Having worked in the creative field for more than 15 years, Mala decided to use her art on daily home and fashion accessories. To start with she did some experiments and after getting appreciation she decided to launch it and take it to a higher level. All her products are manufactured or handcrafted in the UK.
