Designer Puja Chodha grew up in Bangalore, south India and dreamed of being an actor. Acting came naturally to her and Miss Audrey Hepburn was god. She did a fair amount of theatre in school and college and always ended up in scrumptious period costumes or coveted romantic lead roles that exalted damsels in distress.
Puja’s move to New York got her creatively very restless and she followed her heart. Play readings, silk screen printing workshops, photography classes, writing, cooking, Puja immersed herself in everything, desperate to find her calling until she was accepted into the Masters in Fine Art program at New York University.
Puja was fascinated by photography and created a lot of self portraits while practising her ‘expressions’. Through acting/theatre, fine art and photography she developed an eye, an aesthetic and a personal sense of style, along with a creative vision to launch her own clothing line. A hopeless romantic, Puja followed her inner urge to create an all-white romantic collection inspired by wild imaginings and lucid dreams.
Her brand mulmul was launched in Spring 2010 with its debut collection “Waking Dreams“.
Puja is currently pursuing photography by working on personal projects, she also acts in plays if she fancies the role and ofcourse makes simple clothes to soothe her soul.
