Even as a school girl Priya Krishnan Das remembers making her own pen stands from packaging cardboard, mini cabinets with drawers out of match boxes, her own writing board for exams and more. The one theory from school that left it’s strongest impression on her mind is Newton’s law – energy cannot be destroyed; it can only be transformed from one state to another. She takes this law very seriously and when she finds any discarded object (garbage for others), her mind starts to wonder what artistic and aesthetic object the piece could be transformed into.
Art and handicraft took a back seat for a while when she pursued her career as a Human Resource Professional. But somewhere she felt the lacuna, not pursuing what she was passionate about. Deciding to follow her passion she quit her HR job and started her own venture Purple Soul.

Most of Priya’s work is recycled from discarded materials like cardboard from courier and packaging, old visiting cards, used cushion covers, worn out cloth, discolored aluminum foil, empty bottles and containers, and pretty much any ‘garbage’ that inspires her.
