Self-taught artist Nida Mahmood is also a trained designer from the prestigious NIFT. Her designs were awarded the “Most Creative Design Collection” in 2002. Kitsch being her muse and forte, her last 3 collections at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week titled ‘High on Chai’, ‘Bioscope’, ‘Sadak Chaap’ and Machis met with rave reviews, critical appreciation and commercial success.
Nida recently designed costumes for the lead actor in a science fiction Hollywood film PIA. At the recent fashion week she unveiled a Rickshaw installation which will now be a part of the Commonwealth Games public art initiative. Her art is also featured in a tribute Coffee Table Book called Hussain at 94 which features stalwarts like Anjolie Ela Menon, Subodh Gupta etc.

Nida is currently in the process of launching a funky T-shirt line called Desi Pride revolving around the pride that the youth has for their culture. She also regularly writes on art and fashion for reputed newspapers and websites like Financial Chronicle, HT City, Fashioncurry.com, Vogue.com, and The Sunday Guardian.
