A graduate from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Delhi and a gemologist, Puja Bhargava Kamath has won many design awards including those from DeBeers, World Gold Council & Perles de Tahiti.
After graduating, she straddled both the worlds of handicrafts and precious jewellery, working as a consultant/ freelancer. At some point, Puja also created a range of bags & retailed from Ogaan & Wild Orchid in Delhi for a short while.
After many years of providing design services to a number of leading national & international jewellery houses, Puja decided to venture into producing her own designs & has been supplying to few select clients like Fabindia, Earthygoods etc. Through her brand “Lai”, meaning the beloved one in Sanskrit, she creates pieces that are essentially hand-crafted using traditional jewellery making techniques like rava(granulation), jali(fret work), meenakari(enamelling) etc.
