Textile designer and freelance photographer Kangan Arora is a graduate of both Central Saint Martin’s College of Art & Design, London and National Institute of Fashion Technology, India. Kangan’s work was showcased at the V&A museum at the ”textile scrapbox” exhibition, at which she also gave a presentation exploring the relationship between textile design and social science.
Inspired by the often uncelebrated facets and details of popular Indian culture, she creates beautiful hand-crafted textiles and products for the home. Kangan combines traditional techniques like hand embroidery and appliqué work, with screen printing to create fun and quirky prints and surfaces. Here are a few of her designs:
