Vikram Goyal grew up in New Delhi, India’s heritage-rich capital; and spent his holidays exploring palaces, forts and traditions across Rajasthan and other parts of India. He studied development economics at Princeton University and worked with the World Bank and investment bank Morgan Stanley’s offices in New York and Hong Kong. Having lived in diverse corners of the world, he educated himself in the finer nuances of Oriental and Occidental styles – shaping a unique design perspective for himself.
Along with his sister Divya Goyal, they created Viya Home, a design brand emphasizing on luxury and artistry. Working with master craftsmen all over India they create sculptures, furniture and accessories that are individually handcrafted and underpinned by a modern Indian aesthetic, rooted in history and suited for contemporary living.
Vikram was honored as Designer of the Year at the 2009 Elle Deco International Design Awards, New Delhi. Here are a few of their exquisite designs:
Vikram is the creative head for Viya while Divya handles the business aspects. The brand name Viya is created by a mix of their names “Vi”kram and Div”ya”.
