A Modern Take on Traditional Craft

Aditi Prakash loves things handmade and is constantly exploring ways to bring traditional craft into modern lives. She has worked with Gond artists to develop toys and a storybook for children and has also designed a collection of objects that bring together the best of Gond paintings in a way that they can become part of modern day interiors.

Aditi has established a research, design and production studio called Pure Ghee Designs that aims to deliver exceptional cultural content and celebrate the Indian design aesthetic. Here are a few of her beautiful designs.

The pouches and bags are made from materials like raw silk, thick poly silk, Gajji silk and Khadi. While the gorgeous charms are made from scraps of ajrak fabrics, kalamkari, gold thread beads and Benares beads.

Aditi was recently short-listed for the Young Design Entrepreneur Award by the British Council. To enjoy more of her beautiful work click here.
