Growing up in a family of artists and designers Vallari Harshwal’s exposure to art began at a rather early age. Her childhood summer holidays were spent loitering around her grandfather’s painting studio, gazing at the colours, shapes and books he owned.
Vallari graduated in Fine Arts (Sculpture) from MSU and went on to do PG in Ceramic design from the prestigious NID (National Institute of Design). Soon after she worked as a Buyer and Designer for well know companies across India. Vallari was awarded the prestigious Charles Wallace Scholarship to study further Ceramic Design at the Edinburgh College of Arts (ECA) exposing her to a whole new world .
During her subsequent travels between India and UK, Vallari was exposed to the stained glass technique. This fulfilled her desire to use colour, form and function, while working around the challenge of creating flat sheets of glass into 3D designs. Coming back to India, Vallari set up a stained Glass Design studio. Vallari has designed interior spaces for homes, art lights, lamps etc for various clients in India as well as UK. Here are a few of her designs:
Vallari designs home accessories, interiors and jewellery from her UK studio, and gets them produced in her studio in India. Vallari also has a ceramic studio in London.
