British born New York based actor Samrat Chakrabarti is not only a great actor but also an award winning musician. He has won many awards for his music including a U.S. CARA for Best Original Pop/Rock Song, for his composition, “What’s It all About”. This year he was honoured with the 2010 TMG Award for Global Achiever in the category of Film, TV and Drama, for his outstanding body of work over the last two years as an actor.

For those of you who are going “ where have I seen this guy?!” it is probably because he has had several guest stars and recurring roles on television, such as: Law And Order(NBC), The Sopranos(HBO), Love Monkey (CBS), Damages (FX), All My Children (ABC), In Treatment (HBO) and Hope and Faith(ABC).  Samrat has also been in several Hollywood and International Films. His film credits include Claire McCarthy’s “The Waiting City”, Bruce Leddy’s “The Wedding Weekend”, Manish Acharya’s “Loins of Punjab of Presents”, Spike Lee’s “She Hate Me”, Yash Raj’s “New York”, Ajay Naidu’s “Ashes” and Joseph Matthews-Varghese’s “Bombay Summer”.

Samrat continues to play a diverse range of roles indicating what an excellent actor he is. Starring alongside veteran actor Irrfan Khan in the premier show of the much-awaited Emmy-winning hit series, ‘In Treatment’ Samrat currently is the flavour of the world. Look out for the handsome actor in the films WalkawayGangor (Red Carpet – Rome International Film Festival), Ashes and The Waiting City – all releasing within the next few weeks!
