After his graduation from the prestigious National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, Prashant Miranda moved to Canada. He worked with an Animation studio for four years designing animation films for children, the highlight being a 26-episode, stop-motion animation series called “Henry’s world“.
Soon he felt he needed to feed his passion for painting, and along with a few friends, Prashant started a gallery in Toronto called the “Band of Gypsies”. It is a very bohemian place, with an eclectic collection of art, a place mainly to showcase their work.
To escape the harsh winters, Prashant travels back to India for 6 months, and spends the rest in Canada. He has been chronicling his life through his sketchbooks over the last 16 years. Here are a few pages out of his amazing sketchbook, with dreamy watercolour sketches of his recent trip to Montreal and New York.
