For Artist Manajyoti Bora art has always been a major attraction in her life, and although she never had any formal art-education, she never felt restricted by the absence of it. As a youngster of about 11 she used to love painting landscapes with coconut trees and was very fond of drawing the human eye.
Sketching was another area she discovered and found it fascinating to create moods like anger, happiness & sufferings of human beings through body movements & facial expressions.
During her higher education she went through a time of spiritual and artistic searching. Realizing that painting realism was limiting her expressive potential she reached for more freedom in expression, which resulted in a move towards a more dreamy abstract-type of painting or the modern art by sketching various elements related to human beings as inspired by the works of Michelangelo. Here are a few of her profound sketches
Manajyoti is based in Delhi and currently works at Euro RSCG Worldwide.
