Last weekend we went shopping for knick knacks at the arty and trendy Brick Lane and came across this amazing Italian artist, Ivan Ingletto. He had these really great looking clocks and tiles made by using beautiful photographs taken by him. On looking around we found a lot of amazing Indian images and that’s when Ivan told us about his love for India and how he has been to India several times and is due for another trip in January with his girlfriend.
The first picture is of the clock we bought and below that are a few of his Indian inspired tiles which he prefers to call Crystals. Each Crystal piece is a 10cm x 10cm square glass that can be used as a coaster as it is heat resistant or for tiling, giving an amazing effect to the kitchen or bathroom walls. They can also simply be wall mounted using small-specialised hooks that are glued onto the back of each piece for an easy way to display.
Primarily a photographer, landscapes, portraits, reportage are all a part of his professional and artistic repertoire. Ivan has developed an approach to photography that goes beyond simple image making and deep into the heart of abstract creativity. Inspired by the art of Rothko, Mondrian, Pollock and Esther he creates in-depth studies of form and colour, and combines the use of his images with useful everyday objects. Here are a few amazing images captured by him while on his travels to India.
