Passion for Faces

Joshi Daniel always loved photography. But while growing up it was not a popular career choice to make, as there was little guidance on the profession. So instead he studied commerce and took up HR as a profession. His heart though kept pulling him towards his life long passion and soon enough he gave up his career to pursue photography.

His image Roadside Barber won the Vodafone India 9-5 Contest July 09 run by MiD DAY Infomedia Ltd. Here is the winning image:

His image Monsoon Wait was amongst the top 20 finalists for the Nikon-Better Photography Photographer of the Year 2009 Awards in the Landscapes & Cityscapes theme from 40,000 plus entries. Here is the image:

Another one of his images Traditional Pottery Making was in the top 10 of the “Altered Images” category of the Smithsonian magazine’s 7th annual photo contest from more than 60,000 entries.

Joshi is extremely fascinated by faces and enjoys capturing the various feelings they expose. He loves to wander down streets armed with his camera, studying and understanding his subjects for long periods of time before he captures the perfect image. Here are few more of his wonderfully captured images:
