Mixing It All Up

Barcelona based artist Rithika Merchant uses drawing to narrate whimsical stories inspired by her personal reflections and experiences of life. She is particularly fond of patterns made by the placement or overlaying of shapes or units together, and the way each small part functions to create a whole. Here are a few of her stunning work on paper created by various geometric forms, colours and patterns put together.

Rithika is also a founding member of a performance and visual art collective called Permanent Parade. Their inaugural performance, i follow the sun was a traveling shadow puppet show and performance that took place in public, outdoor venues in New York City. Rithika was the Head Designer and Producer for the same.

Rithika’s works have been exhibited in many galleries all over the world. To know more about Rithika and her forthcoming exhibitions click here.
