Mumbai-based, illustrator and designer Anant Kulkarni‘s relationship with art started when he was in secondary school. Having polished his skills at the prestigious Sir J.J. Institute Of Applied Arts, Mumbai, Anant gradually developed an interest in the creation of Visual forms, Pictorial forms and Designing.

After his graduation, Anant started his career with a job in the ad world, soon realising that the ad world was not for him, he began working as a freelance illustrator and designer for many well known publishers and publications. Anant loves to work with grids. He says it helps him break-free from the constraints of drawing and painting. Here are a few of his work:







Anant is a Professor at J. J. Institute of Applied Arts, Mumbai where he guides Post-graduate and Bachelor of Fine Arts students. In February 2010 he released his book ”Sketching and Drawing- A personal View”.
