Geneva-based Dithi Chakrabortty is a self-taught artist and blogger. Her love for art came from her family. Being surrounded by her sisters who were gifted artists, Dithi developed a love for paints though she never imagined painting for a living. Dithi studied clinical nutrition and worked as a nutrition and diet specialist in Mumbai for several years before her husband’s work brought her to Europe.
It was here that Dithi started painting again, this time to cope and connect with her country and all things that reminded her of home. She posted her work on her blog, where she received lots of positive responses and features in reputed magazines like Femina and Times of India which lead to her selling her paintings and there was no looking back since. Here are a few of her wonderful work:
Dithi is inspired by India, its women, traditions, folk art forms, mythology, culture, music, and movies and her favourite medium is acrylic and pencil.
