Firangi Rang Barangi

February 28, 2011

Toronto-based Visual Artist Meera Sethi loves bright acrylic paints, pencils, fineliners, graphic design,  photography, textiles and interiors. Taking elements from her life, her work reflects aspects from the  North American and Indian culture.

Meera’s work is full of minute details, lush colours, geometric abstractions and minimalist clarity. Here are few of her colourful paintings from her series titled Firangi Rang Barangi, where she explores the relationship between femininity, dress and identity to produce a hybrid sense of style that is deeply rooted in a diasporic, transnational experience.
