Delhi born Animator, Designer and Director Varun Chawla was always good at drawing. He loved making portraits while at school and it was only when his fine arts teacher advised him to join an art college did he realise that drawing could be more than just a hobby. His graduate campaign won him the annual award and that was just the beginning of the awards to come. He won the Print in Motion, Broadcast design – 2010 by the Print Magazine, New York. His work was nominated for the Promax BDA India Awards 2009, he also won Gold, Silver and two Bronze at the Promax BDA World Awards (New York) 2007. Here are a few of his amazing work:
Varun has worked and collaborated with many talented artists and professionals like music directors, cinematographers, 3d professionals and compositors. He has also worked with the acclaimed director Ram Madhvani for design and animation for his documentary project on legendary superstar of Indian film Industry Mr Amitabh Bachchan, called ‘Everlasting Light’, screened at Lincoln Center, New York in 2006.
Having worked for companies like Star, Mtv, Vh1, Tata Indicom, General Motors, Glaxo SmithKline, Zee Television, Citibank, Makemytrip.com and production houses like Prime Focus Ltd, Pixion Studios and Equinox Films, he is currently the creative director/visual artist at Dottedbox.
