Capturing Daily Life

Chennai based software professional Mahesh Balasubramanian is a self-taught photographer. He started as an amateur years ago, with a keen interest in people and street photography. He loves to shoot close portraits and to capture daily life on the street.
Mahesh never thought he would get into serious photography until 2008,  when he started photography to de-stress from the hectic corporate life. Day by day he would better his skill by watching masters pictures and trying to produce better ones. Photography soon became a serious passion.

His pictures have been published in many international magazine like National Geography Traveller, Digital Photo Magazine, Wanderlust Magazine, Turkish Airlines Skyline Magazine, AirAsia Magazine, BLUR, etc and numerous online blogs.

Mahesh was the Merit Prize Winner ­in the 2014 National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest. He won the 3rd Prize in overall non­professional portrait Category in the PX3 2014. He was the winner at and 1x Photo Award  in 2013. He also has many honorable mentions in ND Awards, IPA, Black & White Spider Awards and such.

Mahesh admires and is inspired by photographers like Henri ­Cartier, Elliott Erwitt, Robert Frank, Lee Friedlander, Raghu Rai, Raghubir Singh, Trent Parke, Alex Webb and Martin Parr.
Recently, Adobe was using one of his picture as a splash screen for their Adobe Lightroom.
